About
We are a Rugby club located in Columbus, Indiana focused on fostering a sustainable Rugby community by providing a family through healthy competition. The Columbus Rugby community includes a Men's Division III team, high school Boys and Girls team, as well as supporting a youth program through Columbus Parks and Rec Department. The CRFC has been supporting and promoting the growth of Rugby in Southern Indiana since 1997. Our high school Boys team won State Championships in both 2005 and 2012 and the Girls team was State runners-up in 2011.
Is it safe?
Rugby is much safer than rumor would have you believing. Rugbys injury rate and severity is more on par with soccer than football. As a matter of fact, to increase safe and effective tackling in the NFL, pro teams now incorporate a “rugby” style tackle that takes the head out of contact. The CRFC staff and executive board are concerned about all aspects of our players well being. Rugby Indiana and CFRC are committed to our players safety. Please see article on RugbyIndiana “Is Rugby a Safe Sport” for more information.
